CENTER AGRISCULPTURE COMMISSIONED FOR DOWNTOWN ITHACA, NY

The Downtown Ithaca Alliance - with a grant promoting apple related tourism - commissioned AGRISCULPTURE to create a permanent sculpture for the Ithaca Commons that spoke of apples and cider. "CENTER Agrisculpture : Farm Apples - Lovingly Rethought" was designed by making charcoal prints of apple sections from Sweetman Farms and crafting vector based drawings from them - before translating everything into 3/16" plasma cut steel. The leaf is made from an antique disc off a disc harrow, and the stem is an antique hay tine from a hayrake - both found on farms in upstate NY. You may visit CENTER Agrisculpture in the Ithaca Commons - closest to the Tioga Street entrance - in downtown Ithaca, NY.
